Since hotel businesses in Nigeria has assumed an
important role of economic regeneration and stability given its capabilities in revenue generation, jobs creation, and
infrastructure development in the industry recovery
experience of Nigeria in previous recession. The findings of
this study give a better insight towards the need for the
government of Nigeria to put in place feasible business safety
nets such as relief fund for hotel business owners.
.A hundred and twenty questionnaires were distributed among managers and directors of selected hotels in Nigeria. Interviews and surveys were also conducted.
Primary and secondary data will be used in the analysis. Tables and percentages will also be used as the instrument of analysis.
It will be observed therefore that adequate financing by government through credit facilitation schemes for hospitality industry with special reference to hotel operators, and tax reductions and abatements will have a significant impact on improving the already existing positive results from hotel businesses. This will lead to increased job creation, and improvement in the value chain connected to hotel businesses.
Implementation of tax relief policy will also make a difference
in addressing the acute consequences of the pandemic on the Nigeria’s hotel industry, thereby repositioning the sector
for national prosperity.
Hospitality business owners in Nigeria should put on business innovative cap to reach out to their prospective customers.
